My morning skincare routine | May 2020

So I’m here with another skincare-related post and since I previously shared my May 2020 evening skincare routine, I figured it was time to share my morning skincare routine. Washing my face first thing in the morning is the best way to jumpstart my day.

In the morning I cleanse my face with the Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser, a lightweight gel cleanser that contains strawberry seed oil and so it smells amazing.

Afterwards I tone my face with the Soon Jung Relief Toner by Etude House, using cotton pads. This is the first time I’m trying this toner and I really like it because it’s mild and cooling on my skin.

I follow up with the Tatcha Essence which hydrates and plumps my skin. I pour a few drops into my hand pat this all over my face and neck.

Similar to my evening skin care routine, I use The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% as an eye serum. For the rest of my face, I apply the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. This is an item I repurchased and returned to after trying a couple other Vitamin C serums. This has a really similar viscosity to a facial oil, except it sinks in completely after patting into my skin.

My current AM moisturizer is Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer. I had been trying out the smaller version and recently hauled the full size in a recent order from Glow Recipe.

I totally forgot to mention in my evening skin care post that I’ve been alternating between the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado and Glow Recipe’s Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask (I hope to do a comparison post in the future). In the AM, I’ve been using a travel size jar of Tatcha’s Ageless Revitalizing Eye Cream. The full size of this eye cream is $135…so I’m very happy to have my free sample size version because a little goes a long way.

I spot treat blemishes with the Acne Free Terminator 10 with Benzoyl Peroxide. I apply just about 2 drops of The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil all over my face and neck. This not only acts as an occlusive, but provides some slip to help my SPF apply more smoothly. My HG sunscreen is Tatcha’s Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen (personal referral link): the only SPF that doesn’t feel greasy or pill on my face when I apply it.

What do your morning skin care routine? If not a skin care routine, what is the first thing you do in the morning to get your day started?
