If I listed all the printed books I own and haven’t read yet, this post would be miles long. But I thought I’d share some of the books I really do want to get to…eventually. Does anyone else have this problem? I have this issue with mainly print books. I actually prefer ebooks and those I only buy because I plan to read them right away. But I’m also a sucker for beautiful, printed books.
The Two Lives of Lydia Bird has one of the prettiest covers I’ve seen in the last few months and I was so excited when my co-worker grabbed a copy for me when she attended ALA MW in Philly (I live in South Jersey). Technically, I started this book and am a few chapters in, but put it down because I had other books I needed to read and submit reviews for (also, I get super distracted by other books in general).
I nearly forgot I had copies of The Girl The Sea Gave Back and Mermaid Inn. I was cleaning up around my room, including my shelves and book cart, and found these. I loved Adrienne Young’s Sky in the Deep so much, I couldn’t wait to read the follow-up which I won through Goodreads. Mermaid Inn is another romance sent to me by Read Forever and I look forward to reading it because I really enjoyed Jenny Holiday’s Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series.
MacMillan was offering to send free ARCs to librarians who filled out a book matching form and one of the books they sent me was Kate Bateman’s To Catch an Earl. It’s the second in a series apparently and while I’m a stickler for reading books in order, regardless of whether they can be enjoyed as standalones, I was so hyped when I saw this cover!
I had not really heard of Anna K: A Love Story, but when I saw the ARC sitting in our library office and it was up for grabs…I grabbed it! I don’t know much about it and sometimes I prefer it that way. Sometimes it’s good to dive into a story without expectations!
Do you also have several books you have yet to read on your physical or digital shelves? Have you read any of these? Let me know!
